Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans

presents the first-ever physical activity guidelines issued by the federal government. The guidelines describe the types and amounts of physical activity that offer substantial health benefits to Americans. Four booklets are provided: for policy makers and health professionals, for organizations and communities, for adults aged 18-64, and for health professionals and researchers. Interesting Fact:

Adults who are physically active are healthier and less likely to develop many chronic diseases than adults who are inactive. They also have better fitness, including a healthier body size and composition. These benefits are gained by men and women and people of all races and ethnicities who have been studied.
