Interesting Fact:

Abu'l Abbas was an elephant that was shipped from North Africa to Pisa, crossed the Alps, and arrived at Charlemagne's court in Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle) in about 801. It marvelously survived in western Germany until 810.
